What are Low humidity cabinets or Desiccant Cabinets?

An electric drying cabinet, also known as a Dry box or Dry cabinet, is an air-tight dehumidifying dry storage cabinet, which can maintain 1-10%RH humidity levels. Low-humidity cabinets can protect components from moisture and humidity-related damage, such as rust, mold, and oxidation.

A dry box for electronics is used to protect and store Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Parts, Moisture Sensitive Devices (MSD), 3D Printing polymers, Semi-finished items, Automotive Parts, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), Integrated Circuits, Metal Powders, Solder Paste and other manufacturing related materials.

How long is the warranty, and what does it cover in case of defects?

Two years, if any defects after receipt, we will solve it asap, including spare parts sending, online installation guidance, if the defects can’t be settled, we will recall the cabinets, and send a new unit for free. However, , this case has never happened, no worry.

Relative humidity is a very sensitive coefficient and is easily affected by the external environment. Therefore, the recovery time depends on many factors, such as the door opening time, surrounding environment, and storage items. Under normal circumstances, when the ambient temperature is 25 deg C and the humidity is < 60%RH, if the door opening time is within 15 seconds, the humidity can reach below 5%RH within 15-30 minutes.

Some electronic components, such as PCB, BGA, IC, chips, etc., require low humidity storage environment. Desiccant storage cabinets can control humidity and protect them from moisture immersion, making drying cabinets the optimal choice for storing electronic components. Electronic devices in the process of operation, semi-finished products in packaging for the next process, unused ICs, BGAs, PCBs after unpacking, devices waiting in the oven, devices waiting for temperature to be returned after baking, and unpackaged finished products can be damaged by moisture.

The humidity sensor accuracy is +/-2%RH, the long-term drift is <0.25%RH/yr, and we have calibrated every unit before ex-factory. We suggest that no need calibration is required for the first 2 years, if it is indeed required, we recommend using the ROTRONIC, Swiss-made hygrometer HP21, HP22 or HP23.
