Desiccant storage cabinets are the solution for long-term low humidity storage and are ideal for preserving sensitive items such as electronics, optics, documents and other moisture-sensitive materials. These cabinets work by absorbing moisture from the air inside using dry units, helping to prevent damage caused by humidity, such as microcracks, mold, or degradation.
In SMT applications, desiccant storage cabinets are critical for storing moisture-sensitive components, such as solder paste, circuit boards, and other electronic parts.
Maintaining low humidity improves the integrity and performance of electronic components. High humidity can cause components to absorb moisture, especially during reflow soldering. This phenomenon is known as “popcorning,” where trapped moisture expands when heated, causing internal pressure and potential damage.
This is why a humidity-controlled environment is required. Using a drying cabinet can minimize risk by keeping components in a low-humidity environment, thereby reducing moisture absorption. NetDry cabinets adhere to industry-mandated IPC standards.

Desiccant storage cabinets feature patented dehumidifying technology, and provide an excellent solution for protecting moisture-sensitive devices, especially in electronics manufacturing and storage.
The dehumidifying system is controlled by a microcomputer. When the internal humidity is high, it starts to absorb moisture; when the humidity reaches the set value, it stops absorbing water and discharges the water outside.
This chart shows, in the ambient 25 degree C, humidity 50%RH, open door 30 seconds and then close, the humidity can recover to the set point within 30 minutes.
By controlling humidity, these dry cabinets help extend the lifespan and maintain the quality of sensitive items in various industry.
